The Apple TV with a screen

Its coming we know it is but what it will look like how it will work is still yet to be confirmed ideas and rumours are floating around the web but those are come with a 50/50 chance of being true all we can be certain off is that it is coming. Below are my thoughts on how it should be done.

Finding content

We have content everywhere at home on itunes, in the cloud, as favourites on Youtube, Vimeo and other entertainment sites, and subscription services like Netflix and the standard broadcasts. Plenty of sources so how do we find what we are looking for, Search. Google tv and xbox 360 show how it should be done with a search functionality and it works to me theres no better way of finding way of finding content. However say I search for a comedy and get a hundred results I want the ability to search through those results get rid of those movies made before 2012 or are longer then 90mins. Using siri users can find exactly what they are looking for without having to learn custom commands. Simply add your Youtube, Vimeo or Netflix accounts to the apple tv and it will search them also.

Storage

It won’t exist on the Apple tv, your storage will slowly move to the cloud or already exist on other computers or Home server which the tv can search through when connected.

Apps

You need storage for apps but I said no storage so how will it work. This is where Apple takes advantage of web apps the reason why we use apps now on our tablets, mobiles and other portable devices is that we aren’t always connected to the internet a problem that we won’t face with a tv since it stays in one place. You still have to purchase those apps but they will be now be on the web and integrated with iCloud to keep those game scores up-to date

The Remote

A touch screen remote similar in form to the ipod touch we have now it will provide you with a keyboard, the tilt action you need during Temple Run and custom controls for other games available on our touch devices, controls beamed from the apps to the remote.

The following I think goes without saying.

Airplay, Bluetooth, Wifi, Isight, Mic + 2.1 speakers and one can only hope playback of any format.

just building upon the brilliance of the initial three apple tv’s

The electric car and my rant

Please please please stop doing what your doing and figure out a set standard of connector I’ve been doing a little reading i’m no expert on electric cars but from what i’ve read there are multiple charging connections a one standard of connection for all car manufacturers and chargers needs to decided upon and fast. one that supports slow charging to rapid charging. When it comes to slow charging reserve these for the home not the streets 6-8hrs charging time is unacceptable.
